What a refreshing change just in time for Spring! This April, we launch the new HTML version of the Dispatch. We are very excited about the possibilities of an HTML newsletter with images, colour, and a more appealing way to connect with each other. In addition to launching the new Dispatch, we are proud to unveil the Millennium Development Goals youth site and monthly theme page. Unlike our past theme pages, the MDG site will be regurlarly updated so you can return again and again and discover new content. There is much to learn about the MDGs and we hope you will get inspired to add your voice to the global campaign against extreme poverty. Then, why not connect your interest in the MDGs to your involvement in Global Youth Service Day? Read all about this youth day for action, and other news items in this issue.

If you're still looking for a reason to get involved, just remember that every action you take matters: We are all affected, and we are all connected...

In Vriendschap.

Millennium Ontwikkelings Doelen

Wist je dat je een einde kan maken aan extreme armoede? Wil je weten hoe?

The Millennium Development Goals are a commitment between rich and poor countries to eradicate dehumanizing conditions of extreme poverty. Supported by the United Nations Millennium Campaign and in partnership with the Global Youth Action Network we've created a monthly theme to inform you about the MDGs and inspire you to take action on them. On the theme page you can read detailed information about each of the Goals, learn how you can help achieve them, play our MDG Card Game, tell your friends about the Goals by sending one of our colorful MDG e-cards, and much more!

Wereld Jeugd Actie Programma overzicht

The World Program of Action for Youth (WPAY) is the UN's major policy paper dealing with youth. On October 6th, the UN General Assembly will devote two plenary meetings to review the situation of young people that result from the implementation of the WPAY 10 years after its adoption - and YOU are invited to give input! What has your government, what has civil society, done to better the lives of young people since 1995? Your input is crucial to help assess the success of the WPAY in the ten priority areas, which are: education, employment, hunger and poverty, health, the environment, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency, leisure-time activities, girls and young women and participation. Please take the time to fill out our survey.

Globale Galerij Wedstrijd - "Vision 2015: Jouw Toekomst"

Imagine a world where poverty is halved, boys and girls everywhere go to school, gender disparities are eliminated, child mortality is reduced, and maternal health is improved. Imagine HIV/AIDS is halted and its spreading reversed, environmental resources are preserved and sustainable development becomes an everyday practice. All this achieved by the world's countries together, working unanimously for a better future. Is this just a daydream? No, this is the future envisioned by the United Nations and all its member states at the Millennium Summit in 2000, where the Millennium Development Goals were born.

As such, The Global Gallery, in partnership with Art4Development (Art4Development.net) and the Millennium Campaign, is proud to present: "Vision 2015: Your Future." What is your vision for the world in 2015? What will your country be like if the MDGs are realized? These are just some of the questions that you can address in your image. It's your future, your vision to question and answer in an image that can be about the world or about yourself - your hopes, your fears, anxieties, challenges, goals, and of course, your dreams.
